The First Step outreach division
The First Step Actors' Workshop believes strongly in community involvement and operates a number of quality programs that promote the arts as well as personal growth and empowerment:
- The Teen Club program and The Identity Outreach Experience are run in participation with the North Shore Neighbourhood House)
- The Annual North Shore High school "Creating the Bridge" tour
- International Student Program
The First Step also believes in supporting the development of a local industry for our artists. It annually supports the North Shore Film Festival, a non-profit festival that strives to develop and showcase local talent while also providing first time filmmakers with the opportunity to tell their stories.
